Themes of transparency and communication were achieved through the use of charcoal and oil paint. The rigid iron structure of the Eames’ home was designed to allow for moments of privacy and expression through modular color blocking pieces. In this piece, abstracted characters were created to blur the lines between structural framing and modes of communication. A solid concrete retaining wall strikes through two playfully translucent rectangular prisms, uniting the shapes in solidarity as one unit.
